Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

Songs & Self Music Therapy is committed to making this website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe that access to information about music therapy should be available to all, and we strive to ensure our website meets current accessibility standards.

What we’ve done

We have designed this website with accessibility in mind. The measures we have taken include:

  • Using clear, readable fonts with sufficient colour contrast
  • Providing descriptive alternative text for images
  • Ensuring the site can be navigated using a keyboard alone
  • Using semantic HTML headings and landmarks for screen reader compatibility
  • Making the site fully responsive so it works on all screen sizes
  • Including a “skip to content” link for keyboard users
  • Respecting the “prefers reduced motion” setting for users who are sensitive to animation
  • Using ARIA attributes where appropriate to improve screen reader experience

Standards

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. While we have made every effort to meet these standards, some areas may still need improvement.

Known limitations

We are aware of the following areas where accessibility could be improved:

  • The hero image animation uses a WebGL shader that may not be accessible to all users. A static fallback image is provided, and the animation is disabled for users who prefer reduced motion.

We are actively working to identify and resolve any remaining accessibility issues.
